17x8 +30 in the front?
17x9 +20 in the rear?

ZeroDrift 05-24-06 06:43 PM

Ok, after looking around for a few hours, and not finding specific answers, what would be a few good tire sizes for a set of 16" x 8" rims with 30mm offset? Would the tires fit the wheel well alot closer than the GXl stockers? Should I look into some wheel spacers to aid with the fitment? I'm just looking to get a very clean fitment w/o any rubbing. The car has RB lowering springs. I've been looking into some 225 50 R16, but am not sure if they'll fit up front. Thanks!

got my rims on last night
16x8s +48, spacers are 20mm up front and 25mm in the back, tires are 225/50/16

the front tires rub on dips and bumps, should i get the fenders rolled? or perhaps lift the car a little? as soon as i sell my old rims i'm gonna get new 245/45/16s in the rear

Roen 05-26-06 02:58 AM

Which tire/wheel combo is better in the front? 17x7, +30 with 225/45/17 or 17x7.5 with a 225/45/17. I'm not sure what offset to put on a 7.5 if I get a 7.5 in the front, +35, +40? 225 is a nice size in the front, but I'm not sure if there is enough clearance to move up to a 235 or 245 tire. I'd ideally like to have it as wide as possible without it protruding from the fender, having to roll the fenders or using overfenders.

Also, if I use 17x7.5 in the rear, what offset is best for having a 245/45/17 tire and once again, having it as wide as possible without it protruding from the fender, having to roll the fenders or using overfenders?

17x7.5 with 205/40/17 tires.... +43 offset... will they fit an rx7 FC Turbo II?

Teddy poo is the greatest guy ever! Its ashame I can't say anything on whether it'll fit or not.

oreorex 05-29-06 09:12 PM

i'm new to this.. i've been reading up on this.. and finally registered.. but shouldn't.. 225/45/17's fit with 17x8 front offset of +30 and 255/45/17 17x9 offset +30? and fit perfectly with the car slightly droped an inch?

ePH C freak 05-30-06 03:41 AM

18x8 +37 front 18x9 +39 rear... would they fit directly, or would i need coilovers and maybe even spacers?

HP Racing EVO Rims

18x8 +38 offset (FRONT & REAR) all the same on all 4 corners.

I have a stock t2 10th AE. Will these rims fit in the front and what tire size should i go with. I like to have a flush look not sticking out. So please let me know! THANKS!!!!

No with stock type springs and struts.

A small spacer will allow them to fit up front - like 1/4" or 6mm.
Fitment in rear is not a problem.

cooL! that answered my previous question... there are just so many requests for fitment that it can get hard to do a search sometimes!

anyway, you're the man ted!

DC350 05-30-06 07:45 PM

Anyone know if 17x7.5 +43 offset with 205 tires would fit all around? Car has aftermarket springs Rs-r brand.... Please I'm desperate! Fit with spacers?

No problem - just about perfect.

17x9 +20 in the rear?
Not going to fit, unless we're talking crazy tire stretch.
The tire will hit the fender lip in the rear.

225 / 50 / 16 size tires would look really "squarish" on 8.0" wide rims.
I prefer this type of fitment myself.

Would the tires fit the wheel well alot closer than the GXl stockers?
Do you mean look larger in the wheel wells?
No.

Do you mean fit more flush with the fender vertical plane?
Yes, especially up front.
Not as much in the rear...

Should I look into some wheel spacers to aid with the fitment?
No, but if you want the rears to be a little bit more flush, you can run spacers back there.

7.5", +35 is kinda tight up front even with the 225 wide, but it should fit.

I dunno what the recommended for 235 wide, but I think 245 is way too wide for a 7.5" wide rim?

Check with the tire manufacturers for tire width versus rim width recommendations first...

If you're trying to fit that 7.5" in back, try around +25 of offset...

Already answered in your other new thread...
But no, not in front.

Yep, but I would try and shoot for a 9.0", +35 in the rear.
With the 9.0", +30 and the 255 wide tire, it's going to get kinda close to the fender lip - you might need to roll the rear fender lips.

I think that neither would fit front or back...
You need at least 1/4" spacer front and back to make them fit.

sorry bout that, the front fenders are rubbing, right now the lip of the fender has been pushed outward, i set the tein coilovers to "reference values" and it's not rubbing anymore but i'm gonna get them rolled anyways, thanks

'87 TII. Wanting to get some wheels for it. I'm looking at a set of Advans.

Specs are:

17x7 +35
17x9 +38

Would these fit fine and if so what would you reccomend for tire sizes.

225 / 45 / 17 up front.
255 / 40 / 17 in back.
If you're worried about the large stagger, you can drop down to a 245 / 40 / 17 in back.

The wheels should be okay.
The rears might be a little tight but still be okay.

-Ted

IndyFC 05-31-06 11:46 PM

no I'm cool with the large stagger. I'm just interested in having the biggest possible tire in the rear after lowering the car maybe 1" or 2".

zionfarm 06-01-06 04:21 PM

Well i read this in Modified Mag April 06 (88 FC3S Japanese). Front = 17X9 Work Emotion CR wheels +15 offset on 235/40R17 Bridgestone RE01R tires

Rear = 18x9.5 same wheels +19 offset on 255/35R18 Dunlop FM901 tires
Now the article said it's kinda hard to get that kind of offset over here in the states.
He has M-Sport (front and rear wide fenders, but when U look at the back of the car the wheels stick out a little bit. If any body has seen this article tell others how it looks

Would 17x7 with a +18 fit front and rear?
