Thumbs up OEM Power vs. Electric Power vs. Manual Steering comprehensive thread

Okay, i did some search and couldn't really find anything along the lines of what i was seeking...so lets make one thread for all info needed/related to this whole debate!!!

Im looking to build my car to be a fun weekend/fair weather car, and also throw around in some drift events and im looking to figure out what route i would like to take...

options i see are leave the stock power steering system intact.....maybe throw a cooler on it, and lower the pump, run the MR2 PS pump, and again add a cooler, or de-power my rack to maintain the quicker ratio over swapping to a factory manual rack...or i guess swapping to the manual rack....

my first FC was a TII with the manual rack on it...i had no complaints really at all...i never ran anything other than oem spec wheels and tires either though...and this time around i would like a minimum of 245s on the front....so that plays in...

so, lets get some legitimate incite on the debate...valid opinions (i dont care what your babies, mamas cousins buddies girlfriends buddies super cool drift RX7 that has been on stands for the last 10 years is going to be like when its someday done and he is instantly the FD champion the following season) experiences, and facts in feel, set up, cost, reliability, comparisons please

I autocross my rx7 with lowered stock power steering, 315 slicks on 18x12s and only the stock power steering cooler (just the cooling line) and don't really have any complains.

I lowered the power steering pump to where the AC compressor used to live so I could route the intercooler piping above it.

Food to know... Auto zone is probably just as demanding as drifting on the phone pump and fluid... I know 240s have over heating issues, that's y I was wondering about the aftermarket cooler, bit sounds like the FC system is more efficient!! That's good to know!!

Manual steering with a true FC manual rack. I run 255 NT01s, I don't have any issues at all for open track use. It is fine on the street too.
