OEM GS300 wheels on FD?? don't flame:-)

OEM GS300 wheels on FD?? don't flame:-)

I'm in Belgium and 5X114.3 wheels are REALLY rare to find here.

Now I found 4 Lexus GS300 wheels for sale at a bargain price.
For the time being I just want a set of 17"s to put on the car for some trackdays.
(I need the OEM wheels and tire(size) to go to the yearly governmental checkpoint to get permission to drive the car on public road.No other than OEM sizes are allowed)

Do they fit? bolt pattern is OK, but how about ofset andcenter hole diameter?

I am sensing some post-F1-race motorsports enthusiasm.

The Supra (which might be like the GS300) has the same bolt pattern and the offset works okay, but you have to increase the size of the centerbore on the wheels. I would make sure to check the offset first, since that would be hard/impossible to fix. For the centerbore, you can just have the hole enlarged without too much trouble.

Also, I recommend overthrowing your government for having unreasonable motoring regulations.

thanks for your answer. Yeah I won't even go there to explain how our government feels about car regulations. even when i tell you that they do not allow bigger/better brakes than stock. Just because it isn't OEM. Which does not mean we don't do it;-))

Nevertheless. I got in contact with the owner of the wheels. He says the center bore is 60.1mm which is too narrow as I also have some FC wheels laying arround and they have a 59/60mm bore. tried them on months ago and didn't fit.

i checked Jim(lab)'s wheel size excell sheet and this says ET 31 front and ET19 rear for 8X17' all round.

Does this make sense?

The centerbore on the stock FD wheels is 67.1mm. But again, you can get the centerbore enlarged (cut material from center of wheel) without too much trouble.

Those might be the minimum offsets, but you could certainly use ET50 front and rear as well, since that is what the stock wheels are (which are also 8" wide).

thought so. It's just a matter of getting the wheels lined up with the wheelarches foor looks rather than random driving.

Just out of curiosity.... How is your experience with the 10X18 all around? I'm still in the middle of my own wheel choice (purchase next spring).

19"s would be great for looks ( wheels I want only come in 8.5X19 and 10X19) but I drive the car strictly weekends or good days and tend to drive it rather "sportive". Which makes me want to go with 9.5X18's (same wheels as 19") as they probably will handle better and tire budget would be significantly lower.

Hy damon, you're right ET is the european counterword for "offset".

No idea what the letters stand for.

Just want to let you all know that I had the center hole enlarged to 67.1mm and it was a perfect fit to the car. A 5mm spacer in hte rear is a possibility but not a necessity.

Yup centerbore issue. Lexus is 60mm FD is 67mm. Get them bored out and it will work. At that point tho it's really not worth it.

will make some this weekend. Though unlike I was thinking they were the OEM wheels when I saw them for sale, they turned out to be Kosei wheels with Bridgetsone Potenza S03's on them. The difference with the stock wheels (grip) is very noticable. Got to get it lowered though as with 225/45/17 fronts and 0245/45/17 rears, the car is somewhat higher on it's legs.
