new wheels baby!

Yo!
So I posted these in my other thread "I've lost the RX" but I don't think anyone wants to read about another RX7 down the drain. So here are a few pics of my car. The wheels are AZA Z1 hyper silvers. 265/35/18 in the front and 245/40/18 in the back. With the glorious P-Zero neros! Tell me what you guys think.

Since you asked, I'll score you 1 out of 3. Thumbs up for the RB exhaust, thumbs down for the RB lip and boat anchor knockoffs.

"boat anchor knockoffs"

Not quite sure I understand. Are these reputably bad wheels or somethin or just really heavy? I had no say in what was done to the car, if you read my other thread. But I would definitely like to know more about these wheels and everyone's opinion.

He means they are knock-off SSR GT3s. While they look ok, they are a good bit heavier, and just arent as high-quality of a wheel.

persuasio24,

If you like it, then just enjoy it. Everyone's a critic.

Oh well, I still like em a lot. yeah thanks Mahjik. I didn't pay for them and I still love the design, so I'm fine with it. I still havent actually seen this car in real life so I cant wait!!! Those are the only clues as to what my car looks like. Hope to be goin down to ATL in 2 weekends to bring it back to school.

Oh yeah, also, after reading what I first posted, the 265s are in the back and the 245s are in the front. I'm sure you guys just assumed that. So, wanted to clarify

persuasio24: You plan on lowering your car when you get it? It looks like a 4x4 w/ the huge wheel well gap.

not sure. itd be impractical to do so, seeing as how i use it as a daily driver and the front bumper lowers it more now. but id like to get a set of eibach's pro-kit..which would only take it down like an inch. the problem is i have a really steep entrance and exit to my apartment.

Yes, be careful with lowering and that RB Air Dam.

You could look at the RSR Race Springs. They drop the car a little less than 1", so that might be an option for you. The Eibachs will drop your front too low with that Air Dam on there. Otherwise, you'll need a coilover setup so you can make it exactly how you need it.

The car looks nice. IMO, for a street driven car, there is nothing wrong with heavier rims. If you ever plan to do any AutoX or road racing, you can always pick up a cheap set of stock rims to use.

I have my "heavy ***" rims for the street, and my "old light stock rims" for the track as well.

Those are nice wheels, knock offs or not. Im not feeling the RB spoiler but the rest of the car looks sweet. Im sure if you had the SSR centercaps on your knock offs, nobody would tell the difference and everyone would compliment your wheels.

Tire Rack would have them, but please don't do that. You wouldn't sew a Diesel patch onto a pair of Wranglers, would you?

You could also powdercoat the center and keep the polished lip. So it does not stand out as a knock off.

I wouldn't say that... count the "rivets" (or whatever they are called) around the rim... the knock offs have 5, the GT3's have 6.

Anyway, I think your car looks great.... wheels are nice, too -- I would do what was suggested though -- use those for street and the stock ones for HPDE and autox...

and I personally really like the racing beat spoiler... I have always liked it on the Red one on the RB site...
