Unhappy New Suspension & New Noises! Need Input! --->

Hi all:

Stock, the car was as quiet as can be, and *was* when I put in Bilstein HD shocks and H&R Sport Springs for the first couple months it was in, but now, I'm starting to hear squeaks coming from the front, and what seems to be a very light "knocking" noise coming somewhere from the rear on bumps or bad roads. My car only has 25K original miles so I doubt it's any of the bushings or other stock suspension components, but please, correct me if I'm wrong! I had the mechanic who did the work drive the car and he feels like nothing is out of the ordinary. So, is it normal to hear new noises with a new suspension setup? Or, if not, any ideas on typical "trouble" spots and how to minimize the noises, or is a stiffer suspension by virtue of giving a stiffer ride going to induce more racket, and is this something to realistically expect and should just learn to live with?

TIA!

A stiffer suspension will make you hear everything in your car that's loose. Check things like your spare tire, jack, and tools in the back to make sure they are tightly secured. Also, check your hood/rubber hood stops and latch. They're a common source of squeaks up front.

This one got me -- make sure the top of your shock rods are not contacting the side of the hole through the shock tower.

Also, 25k doesn't mean anything. If you have the original bushings, I guarantee you, a lot of them are in pretty bad shape.
