New to the FD and have some questions about my wheels and tires.
First off, Hello! Just spent most of the last 11 years deep into MR2s. They are a great car, but I went too far with it and finally bailed out for something more reliable and less temperamental and got an 94' FD deal on a blown engine from a board member here. I have sold off the MR2 and 11 years of parts, so now I am going extreme with the RX7 and will probably tick some of you off by saying this, but it will be an LSX, with about $40K worth of parts on her.
Anyway, Left over from the MR2 are my custom made Forgeline rims and tires, that are brand new. I would really like to use them, but since I haven't gotten my parts list together for the suspension yet and the car is currently stock, I haven't been to the point of test fitting them. I would like your advice on what I might experience when I do.
The rims are 18x10 with 285/30/18s front and 18x12 with 345/30/18 rear. Both have 6mm offsets.
I intend to use Shine auto 20mm fenders and Petit racing rear flares.
So, how bad is the news boys?

I see. I found this cool tool: http://www.rimsntires.com/rt_specs.jsp
Coupled with the sticky .xls on this forum and I cam up with that I would need to modify the fenders to extend about 1" +/- a little on the front and the rears may need 1/2" or so to be good. I need to look at the wheels, I may be able to mill off a little material from the hub too.
Why do you say "horrendous"? are you talking about fitting, or that you just don't like them? I do plan on molding them in.
Thanks for your input.

If you truly care about performance you should pick the tire compound first, then pick the size, then pick the wheel to go with that. Then build the car to fit it. 285 front and 345 rear is very overkill even for a 450 hp or something v8.
