new Falken Azenis RT-615

i am highly anticipating the release of this tire. if the price is right, it will probably be the tire i purchase this summer (assuming it is available then).

http://www.vulcantire.com/azenis_rt615_t.htm

i haven't been able to find much info on this tire, anybody heard anything?
i DO know this is going to be more of a premium all-out summer performance tire, hoping to compete with the likes of the Potenza S03 and other high end offerings. i just hope they won't cost as much as them...

I am waiting on the pricing. The tread pattern is very interesting, in a good way

It seems that once again, us FD owners can't use Azenis on our stock wheels

They have Azenis Sport tires in 205/55-16 for you TII owners with stock wheels.

The new RT-615 looks like it will be another great performance tire like the original Azenis Sport. I'm on my second set of the Sports on my daily driver. They are great. They're a little heavy, noisy, and don't last all that long compared to more pedestrian tires, but the grip level and price are outstanding. I think we can expect similar attributes in the RT-615. And I'm glad to see they have some in bigger sizes this time, even though they have missed some important sizes for the RX-7 crowd. I want 245/40-17 or 235/45-17 for my +1 fronts, and some 245/45-16 or 225/50-16 sizes would be nice for stock wheels.

They are street tires, but they are about as close to the DOT R-compound tires you can get in a normal street tire. My daily driver is strictly a street car (and a weak one at that -- 1990 Integra, bone stock besides the wheels and tires), but it is actually pretty fun to drive with the sticky tires on it. A "real" car with tires that sticky would be great fun.

Cool, thanks Max! Most daily drivers are daily drivers for a reason I feel your pain

If only they made 225/50/16, and/or 245/45/16's.
