Question Need help with my Volk Racing wheels.

Hey,

I'm in the process of refinishing my Volk Racing two piece wheels and I need some suggestions about putting it together. As of now, the wheels have been disassemble, chemical strip to bare aluminum, and the centers are going to be powder coated on monday. The wheel barrels are being polish and so are the nuts that goes around the wheel barrel.

I want the wheels to have a clear powder coating to maintain the polished lips and keep the centers clean .

My question is, should I clear coat the parts separately, then assemble the whole thing. Or should I assemble it first, then have the completed wheel coated? If any of you have ever done this, please let me know how it turned out.

Thanks, Jay

how much did it cost you to do all that? did you have to fix the wheel at all (scratches/curbs) or did you just wanted to powdercoat it.

The Chem strip/bead blast was $100.00 for all four, the powder coat with clear powder for each rim are $45.00 each, and the polishing is another $120.00.
