Need Help Calculating Wheel offset

Okay, here is what I need help with. I am trying to figure out what spacers to use for some wheels I just bought.

According to my great picture attached, the FC and FD wheels should stick out the same amount when installed on an FC. But no one keeps their car like this. Most people use 25mm spacers to give their car the appropiate look. This should make the wheels stick out of the car more, and maybe make it look a little wierd. This can't be the case because no one ever complains of that. Using the spacers does however make the backspacing about perfect, so there will be no rubbing on the suspension.

What is wrong with my drawing, or is it just that the wheels sticking out more looks better on the FC. With my wheels, should I get some 25mm spacers too, or should I use some 7/16" spacers that I can find for $25 for a set of 4.

Hmm, that picture didnt seem to load. Go to this link for my wonderful Windows Paint picture. You will probably just have to right click and save to disk.
