Need to get new tires for Vert BBS rims - q on sizing

Need to get new tires for Vert BBS rims - q on sizing

Should i replace with the stock size 205 60r15 or can I step up to a 225 60 15 with no problems?
need to cost some out asap so help is appreciated

225/60/15's are taller than stock, you may run into rubbing problems, and the speedo will be off and you'll accelerate slower. For performance summer tires, get 225/50/15's, they'll lower the gearing a bit for better acceleration, lower the car slightly for better cornering, and will have better options for tires. For winter tires (since we're heading into winter), you want narrower tires, stick with stock or maybe a 195/65/15. The narrower tire cuts through snow better to get to the pavement below.
