My Set-Up Rub's Bad and Is Ruining My Fenders!

Hey all, I just bought a 3rd Gen a few months ago and am just now finding this site. So I got some issue I need to work out. One is my suspension set-up. I've got H&R springs with Tokico 5-ways's. Work Equip 18x10 in back with 275/35/18's and 18x9 235/40/18's. It looks really good but I bottom out all the time. Even when my Tokico's are turn all the way up. I have no issues in the back, but the front fenders are getting torn up if I'm turn sharp and hard and it's starting to shread my tires in front. If H&R sells these spring shouldn't they be high enough to not do this? Are my struts gone? I bottom out even going in a straight line on a dip in the highway or something. I know my tire is rubbing the top of the fender because the plastic on top is get rubbed off. Any idea's???

You are just rubbing in the sense that the top of the tires are hitting the top center of the fender liners?

The culprit is most likely the tires - 235/40/18s are too tall. Given this and the fact you have lowered it, you will obviously increase the chance of hitting the fender liner.

235/40/18 = theortical overall diameter of 25.4"

245/35/18 = " " " 24.75"

Keep in mind that different tire manufacturers will actually have different real world measurements for the 'same size' tire.

What tire brand/model do you have? 245/35/18s should help a bit, though is not an easy to find size.

Available in Pirelli Pzero Assimetrical, PZero Rosso (have not found it state side yet though), Toyo T1S, Goodyear sumthin or other (Fiornos?? tirerack no longer carries size), Falken GRB FK451, and Dunlop 8080 (OEM MB SL w/AMG package, good luck finding).

Yep, whoever did your tires did not know how to upsize properly. Both tire sizes are 1-inch too tall! The rears will decrease your axle ratio, and introduce speedometer error, as well as decreasing acceleration. Ideally you'll want as dclin recommended 245/35-18 front and 285/30-18 in back--both are ~24.75 inches overall diameter which is very near stock overall tire diameters...

Sounds to me that it has to do with the offset of the wheels. I have a friend running the same size tires on the front of his FD with no issues. I on the other hand have the same issues you do.
