my completely new FC suspension (lots of pics)

well i finally decided to replace the awful 20 year old suspension on my FC. i bought some used tokico blues and some suspension techniques springs (1 inch drop). i also bought a complete prothane bushing kit from www.nopionline.com . also since i was having a hard time putting the V8 power to the road, i bought some 300zx rims and tires. the rears measure 16 x 8.5 +35 245/50/16 and the fronts are 16 x 7.5 225/50/16. started with the front, took everything out so that i could do the job right. i brought in the a-arms to work to remove the bushings... what a PITA! i ended up using a sawsall for the rear bushings and the press we had worked nicely. the a-arms were very difficult to get back in but with some prying and convincing i finally got them back in place. the struts and springs installed quite nicely. the old struts were so dead that they fully compressed under the force of gravity alone!

it took me a whole week to do everything, i finally got to take the car out for a drive this weekend and i am so happy with the results. it's like a whole new car, i love it.... it was a terrible lot of work but SO worth it in the end. the front rim/tire combo didn't fit, a pretty big dissapointment, but i think that a 10mm spacer will do the trick. i attached some pics for you all to enjoy. yes, i know the car is ugly, but hopefully it'll be painted to match the engine bay this summer!

Keep up the work, and you'll have a great FC soon bro. But lose the engine, what the hell are pistons again?

Hey, quick question regarding the V8, I heard from a friend that both LT1 and LS1 weigh the same as a 13BT or 13B-REW, is that true? Since you've obviously done the swap, let me know whether or not that is true, thanks!

Kepp it up. I would recommend some longer wheel studs if you plan on running a 10mm spacer. Definitely in the back (but the picture looks like it fit). The front might squeeze by, though. Good luck.

So the LS1 IS around the same? Huh, amazing, since rotaries are so small, hard to imagine it weighing the same as a V8.

I heard it's about 80 pounds more for a LS1 over a 13b turbo engine.So the LT1 must be substantially over 100 pounds.
