mx or 615?

Im in the market for some tires. I got quoted $130 for falken 615 and $140 for the Kuhmo mx. The size is 255/40/17. I was trying to search around, and I'm getting mixed results.

Which is stickier? last longer? Any other suggestions on tires?

I might go to the track, but my car is mainly a street driven car. Thanks

rt-615 are stickier, the kumho will last slightly longer. i've ran both tires, go with the azenis. however for that size i would go with the bridgestone re01r, costs a little more but its a better tire imo. im going with those next time i buy tires

I gotta check the price on those tires. Thanks for the input.

What is the 411 on the re-01r?

street driven car go MX

last a long time, great handling, good in rain, not much noise.

the 615s really shine as an autox tire. if you aren't autox its almost pointless

My 7 is on it's 3rd set of MX's.
I have to disagree with the noise aspect, otherwise I think you are spot on.
They are all sticky tires. IMO, for normal use, the cost savings outweighs minor performance differences.

couldnt have said it any better. also the MXs can end up being a little taller (bigger overall diameter) than the same size / spec azenis.

I also think the rt615 will be less likely to chunk at the edges if you do a trackschool from time to time and dont keep an eye on your tire pressures and alignments.. meaning the rt615 design is a little more forgiving and the MX might chunk badly if you dont know to keep an eye on those things.
