Michelin Pilot Sport vs. Bridgestone S03's?

Hey all,

I wasn't able to turn up much info with a search about the Pilot Sport Michelin tires, so I wanted to ask.

Which would all around be a better tire for my FD? I have the stock 16" wheels. The areas I'm most concerned about are --

1 - Stickiness for Handling & Lateral Acceleration

2 - Stickiness for acceleration in various situations (stopped at a light, going from a roll, etc.)

3 - Tread Wear/Tire life

4 - Not worried about wet TOO much, since I don't intentionally drive my car in the rain, but just in case I get caught in a storm Wet handling should be top notch as well.

99.9% of my driving will be on the street. I do plan on tracking it or autocrossing it once in a blue moon though, maybe only once or twice a year. I have to get a slip from somewhere to see where I stand...

Waddaya think? Thanks guys!

The S03's are better in the rain, but both are equal on dry.....I was tod the new F-1 Good years are the sh*t...dunno... I liked the S02's better than any other street tire I've ever had.

Both are good. Both are expensive. I don't like the Frenchies, and since our Rx7s are Japanese cars, I'd go with the Japanese tire.

Just don't ask us which tire size is better 245/45-16 or 225/50-16. If you do, I'm gonna

The Pilots are 20-50 bucks more per tire with no discernable benefit.

If ultimate dry traction is your goal, get the BFG KDs... they price is in between the two others.

I used to do tire testing for an OEM and tried both tires in several sizes. I picked the Bridgestone for my FD. Best overall. Not the greatest wear but nice and sticky when I want it. My only complaint with the Bstone is a lack of warning as it starts to understeer (or oversteer for that matter) but if your butt is sensitive enough, you feel whats happening anyway.

www.tirerack.com has both testing and survey results of owners for both tires. I believe the owners give the SO3's the nod.

Thanks for the replies guys. The S03's have it! Tirerack rates the tire a bit higher in all categories except for tread wear anyways (.1 lower than the P/S).

Now if this snow would just go away permanently, and we'd get a few good showers to wash all the salt away, I could buy my S03's and wake up the FD...

Ahh well, patience, patience......

Thanks again!
