Mazdaspeed Steering Linkage Bushing?

All,
I was just looking at the Mazdaspeed full bushing set, and I see there's a piece of the steering linkage included. If there a bushing "upgrade" in that linkage, does that mean there's a bushing in there in the first place, i.e.: one that could wear or become damaged?

I assumed that system was all solid linkage.

It's all metal joints etc.... possibly there's an upgraded U joint or something?

Sounds strange to me but I see the little metal steering rod in amongst the bushing so there must be something to it

I'm wondering if there's some sort of rubber vibration dampener in there?
