master cylinder

any common poroblems with the breaks on the fc? think my master cylinder is gone but i cant tell fluid seems to be leaking... from bettween the reservoir and cylinder maybe?

Have you by any chance bled the brakes recently?

The MC can get deposits on it at the end of the cylinder.

If you bleed the brakes on an older MC, and pump the brakes all the way to the floor to bleed them, the gunk at the end of the cylinder can eat up the seal on the piston.

Been there, done that, bought a new MC.

In any case, yours is leaking and needs fixed or repaired.

If it is original equipment it is well over 15 years old and prone to failure at that age.

Not really any problems that can't be explained by age and/or lack of maintenance. If the system is in good condition then the FC has some pretty good brakes.

Feel under the carpet behind the brake booster it can leak there and not show!
