mandeville bbk problems FD
Hey everyone,
I bought the mandeville BBK from a forum member a while back, and the calipers were just rebuilt so they should be good. I installed the bbk and I finally got my fd on the ground and ready for it's first drive, but I noticed that the front driverside wheel seems to be locked up. It does not spin freely, and only turns under extreme force(like moving the car forward on pavement with engine. Car cannot be pushed). So I took the wheel off and had a look around and noticed the very inside edge of the caliper is touching the rotor instead of the pad. I pulled everything apart and put it back together a dozen times, and ground down the hub to add extra clearance for the new bolts but still the same problem.
With no brake caliper the rotor turns freely, but as soon as I tighten the bottom 17mm bolt for the caliper the rotor becomes stuck, because the caliper itself is touching the rotor not the pad. It is touching right under the mazda lettering, close to the hub on the very edge. It's like the extra spacing that the bracket adds is making the caliper not centered, but it is widened and everything.

I thought about that, but the bracket would hit the rotor if I did that. So no go on that.
Does anyone know who I could contact that manufactured this kit and ask them too? I might just need a new bracket or something, but the passanger side fits fine and the brackets are identical, so I really don't get whats going on.

I just swapped the rotor and bracket from the pass side that fits to the driverside and I still have the same problem. So it looks like there is something wrong with the caliper itself. I'm going to try swapping those now and see since I have to put the stock brakes on anyway.

Yup it's the caliper. It must be bent somehow, no idea how it got bent though. These supposedly were on another fd and saw track time too. So I have no clue how it was bent between then and now. It has just been sitting in a box since I received them. Anyone know who I could send a caliper to so I can have the modification done to use this kit? I still have the stock calipers so I could convert one.
