lowest possible offset?

i know 17x8 +35 (front) and 17x9 +35 (rear) is a popular wheel size for the FD but, what would be the lowest possible offset i could go on this without running into fender rolling issues, or any modification really..

I've just been asking the same question about 18".

Open the File on the first post on this thread and it will give you the lowest usable Offset (leaves 1/4 tyre to Arch gap as it says) https://www.rx7club.com/suspension-wheels-tires-brakes-20/fd-wheel-tire-sizing-416251/

this question doesn't make sense because offset is concerned with width and horizontal clearance. being 18" has minimal bearing on clearance (as long as you're not doing something extreme... like tucking to the rim edge). a larger diameter wheel will mean a skinnier tire, keeping the overall diameter of the wheel/tire package roughly the same.

and anyway, its not really a clear cut question.

first of all, you have to identify the widths you are willing to run. you could run 0mm offset if you run 6" wide wheels all around. kakaka

then you have to determine if you are willing to gain clearance by running more negative camber or stretching the tire.

then you have to take into account modifications to your suspension and quality of the roads. for instance, if you have a metal bar in place instead of a shock and spring, you could run like .0001mm clearance since the wheel will never move relative to the car. stiffer lets you run closer. softer means you better leave some room for error
