i recently installed a set of knight sports camber plates on my FC, and when i turn the wheel my springs move and make all kinds of craking noises.

i installed the plates with the spacer provided and i have tanabe springs, and regular oem replacement struts. when under load the springs move out of place when steering. there is like 1/4" gap between the top spring thing that holds the spring down and the bottom of the camber plate. that is why the spring moves because it is bot being held down in place by the camber plate.

what can i do to solve this?

has anyone had any trouble with this?

please help a confused rotary lover

 

comon i know people on here have installed camber plates of regular struts.

cant anyone help me?

 

Sorry I can't help you, but I was wondering about something. I purchased the Knightsports front camber plates off Ebay and as I was taking out my struts, I discovered that the plates would not be able to slide onto my struts without removing the upper spring seats. Since it takes place of the upper strut mount, I figured it would be an easy install, but the spring seat is so tall that the top of the strut can't reach the camber plate so I can secure the nut onto it. If I remove the spring seat, my springs wouldn't stay in place. I've got Eibach springs and Tokico shocks if it matters.

I don't know how to solve your problem, but if you know how to solve mine, I'd appreciate it.

 

Check the center spherical bearing to see if it's "bad".
Loose spherical bearings can make all kinds of noise.

This is why I hate these "cheap" front camber plates that don't use a proper Torrington bearing for when the wheel turns.

K2RD used to make the only ones that are specifically built for the FC front with the Torrington bearings for turning loads.

i fixed my problem by going to home depot and getting some washers to close the gap between the camber plates and the springs.

it worked fine.
