Kinesis and my dilema...

I think I want to go with a set of k28r (once I convince the wife) unless 18s just suck for Northeastern roads. I would get 17s but they don't come in the reverse drop center so I think they will look a little small since they have a beveled outer section.

For some reason I think this IS the wheel for my FD but the 18s do worry me a little.

Plus I do need to deal with the extra 1k I will have to put down for 'em.

My other wheel choice would probably be a GT-N or CE28n.

And this would go on a stock appearing Silver FD.

What's everyone elses opinion?

Kinesis 18's will be much heavier than the CE28n's or their 17" counterparts, in the 22-24 lb range...

I would guess that wheels without a stepped lip (like the R's) might also be even heavier, because its the center section that weighs.

That said, they are awful nice looking. As far as ride quality, do you have any friends w/ 18's? Try some out if so, and maybe plan to buy tires with softer sidewalls, like maybe Yokohama AVS sports.

18s look nice but the contact patch suffers too much imhmfo. hell, Bryan (BNR) has 18's with 275s and he still doesn't hook up (this is with 400+rwhp, though)
