Jimlab's Bushings and Clunking... again
I've read a lot about poman's woes and a few others calling out R&D blah blah blah... I have had the exact same problem from about 3000 miles of use and another 10000 later. No signs of significant wear, I've always kept them lubed. As with everyone else, it happens after driving about 25 minutes (drive to work). With bumps in the road on any corner or weight shifting while turning at any speed or even just going from full steering lock to full steering lock while stopped. It's definitely coming from the bushings!!!
Without signs of wear, the only thing I can think is with such a loud clunk/groan/thunk noise, it could possibly be the bushing itself turning in the suspension part. Or what if it's the bushing turning on the frame at the mounting point? Any thoughts on whether that could be the problem and more importantly how to fix it?
It's incredibly embarrassing to show up in a parking lot when everyone ooooh's and aaaah's and then hears the suspension over the exhaust and asks what's wrong with it. Hopefully someone can figure out a solution here...
