Which JIC coilovers are these?
I'm talking to someone who wants to sell their "newer" JIC coils, as they say. He didnt get pics of them on the car yet, but he said they look like these.
I did a bit of digging, and I think they're 1st gen SF-1's, but I'm not sure. Anyone else know what they are, and the specs on them, as well as used pricing?

I had those, they are SF1'S. They are made in Taiwan. Only hight adjustable. You can get dust boots for them now. Spring rates are 10/8kg which is a little stiff since you can not make the damping or rebound softer (new ones are 10/7 or10/6kg). You can replace the cartridges, so you don't have to ship them to Japan (or CA) for a rebuild ($80ea). Unfortunately they are an older nitrogen twin tube design which makes slight whooshing noise and not intended for track as they heat easier then the new single tube design. I don't know what you mean by 1st gen, they are just their lowest model intended for street use. They do come with the upper mounts as low end Tein's don't. Price would depend on milage and if the cartridges have to be replaced. They are about $1200-$1400 new but today you can get Buddy Club's for less or even Megan if you can hadle 12/12 spring rates.

the JIC USDM version coilovers came with helper springs on the FLT-A1 and A2 versions. I've tried both the FLTA1 and A2, and I loved the A2 the best. Since SF-1 is a lower version of the A1/A2, then I wouldn't be too impressed by them. Older twin tube design, non inverted, no dampening, and do they even come with pillowball mounts? I don't think they did.

700 CAD would be a fair price only if you can verify that none of the dampers need new cartridges. The twin tube nitrogen setup does not last as long as the newer single tune design. Therefore, it it's not low milage you should expect to replace cartridges. You may want to buy dust boost at the same time. All JIC coiloers came with upper pillow ball mounts. That's a price advatange over lower end Teins that do not. Cartridges are $90 CAD (each). If he can't prove they are low milage and not blown then you should offer $450-$500CAD.
