How to tell dead LSD

How can I tell if my LSD need rebuild? This is a 87 T2, so I am guessing I have the plate type LSD which will wear down in times. The car has 125k miles and mainly use on track...

you can't tell by jacking the car up... you can't generate enough torque on teh wheels to cause the discs to show slipping (IE Wear)

go find a road in the middle of nowhere with a gravel/sand shoulder.

stick 1/2 the car on the sand/gravel and the other 1/2 on teh pavement.

Have a friend watch from outside the car... rev the car in 1st gear and launch it at like 4000+ rpms and have your friend watch.

btw hang onto steering wheel tight!

u should know prettyu qucikly if your rear end if fubar
