how does the FD front ABS sensor come off?

I'm putting new springs on the front of my car and http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/s...tallation.html

Says to remove the abs sensor, but it won't budge. The shop manual doesn't say how it comes off, only "remove abs sensor"

what gives? i dont' want to break the thing

Joe

I couldn't get mine off either. I think the heat in that area fuses that part in so if you try you will probably need a new one. You can change the springs without taking it off or at least I was able to. If I remember right I just proped something underneath to help support it.

Good luck.

Well I couldn't get the damn thing off, so I just supported the assembly with a ramp and a blanket and got it all out.

Mine have always come out easily with a little twisting while pulling on it. Once out put a little grease around the cylinder before installing it and you should never have the problem again.

Mine was basically fused to the assembly. It wasn't budging at all, so I just gave up

Use a nut loostener fluid. Then take a "sacrificial" flat blade screwdriver and tap gently on the sensor working it back and forth. It will eventually come out.

I do not recommend removing the spring with it still in place. If you make a mistake and rip the wire out it's a very expensive part!
