How do Nitto NT 555R's stand up to the competition?
Hey guys,
I'm looking for another set of rear tires for my widebody first gen. These NT 555r's look pretty appealing, I would be getting them in the 315/35/17 (I just wish they made a 335/35/17), and i'm wondering if anyone has any first hand experience with them?
I've read that thread life is around 15, 000 miles. Just wondering if you guys recommend anything different for a ultra high performance drag radial/competition street legal tire?

Ive used the Nitto 555DR's for several years with great results. They hold up very well and hook up good. Not as good as my M/T street radials, but the M/T wear out much faster than the Nittos. I have used the Nittos in everything from drag racing to higway driving in the rain/snow. Snow was very light.....

i use the 555r's in my high 12sec rx7, my buddies 10sec t/a uses 555r's. If i had the money, I might go with a stickier tire, but all around they are a great sticky dr in my opinion.

They are great for daily usage. As mentioned above, they actually do last a good while. They are more practical than the MT's if your goal is daily driving it.
Not the best tire, but definitely not the worst and will get the job done well!
My friend has those 315's on his Camaro. He's putting down 448RWHP/555LBS TQ and they work great for him!
