How do I remove the Fikse center caps?

I hit them pretty hard with the back of a scredriver covered in a towel, do they pop off or is there some trick? I don't want to hurt them!
Thanx!

Right, they pop off. It's a pretty tight fit. Try to hit it with something wider so it applies equal force around the outside edges.

I used to think the same thing. Check this story out:

I'm at work one day in the motorpool and taking a break and surfing ebay. I stumble across a pair of FD Fikse FM-5s (rear axle, 17x10) with new Potenza 275 width 730s with a buy it now price of $750. The rims were used, and there was no picture. After staring at the screen for a minute, I went to Fikse.com and called the number on the site. I was informed that these wheels retail for $950 per rim. Seems like a no-brainer to me. I then called my dad, a fellow R1 owner who lives in NJ, and asked him if he'd be willing to drive down to Virginia to check them out before he hand delivered the money. No problemo, says the old man. This transaction goes down without a hitch. I post this little ditty up on the forum. I can't believe my luck but am now looking at breaking the bank for a pair of fronts.

About a week later I get 4 PMs from some buds telling me to check out Ebay again. By some crazy stroke of luck somebody is selling a pair of brand new fronts in 17x8.5 for $750. I email the dude offering $550, he comes back with $650, I buy them w/out having to agonize over the auction.

I'm hellbent on getting s03s, so sell the potenza 730s off the back axle for $300 to someone here on the forum. Add it all up and I somehow, someway (....keep comin' up with funky a$$ $h!t like every single day.... ) scored a set of $3600 Fikses for $1100.

Keep checking ebay, it can happen to you too !

Edit: As a postscript, it gets even weirder. About a month after mounting the rims I'm IMing with Brian Dowling out in the Carolinas. He used to run Rotary Powered and is a pretty well known rotary guy. I tell him my crazy story and he asks me if the center caps off the used back axle had the "Fikse" shaded in red. I IM back that yes, they were and that I had purchased a pair of new centercaps so that front and back would match. Brian comes back and tells me that he's 99% sure that the rims were originally his, which he had mounted on Brooks Weisblat's famed red FD (ran the fastest stock 1/4 time) when Brian bought the 7 from Brooks. Turns out the guy that bought Brook's FD from Brian crashed the car and destroyed the front, thus the need to sell just the rear set of rims. Pretty crazy stuff, huh ?
