Question How do I know if my suspension is shot?

I am contemplating my next RX-7 fix/upgrade. Mostly I have been working on intake/exhaust stuff and I am pretty happy with the performance now.

I have started reading up on suspension stuff and I have one basic question: How do I know when my suspension needs replacing?

Secondary questions/comments:

1) I don't know if my suspension is the orig. stock suspension. How can I tell? I can provide pics if somebody wants to help.

3) Pushing the car up and down seems make the car bounce a little. I think i was expecting that a good suspension (for this car) woudl mean that I would get one quick bounce back up after pushing down.

3b) pushing to the side causes the car to shift around a little.

4) While driving hard around turns I always have to correct the wobble that happens (not the tires slipping) kinda goes with 3b.

5) If I get on the gas hard (Like I always do) and car will wobble a little bit back and forth.

It might also help to know that I have the stock 14 inch rims with properly inflated tires. I assume some/all amount of the back and forth wobble could be due to the sidewalls having a lot of give.

Sorry for the long winded question. As always any help is appreciated.

to really know if the shocks are shot is to take it off and put pressure to it ..if it bounce back up then its still good.

i dont think i've ever seen a performance shock thats black. lol funny but true. except for the springs.

the rest could be many things. its late so im gone. good luck.
