how do i get these wheels off?

hi all

want to get in behind these 17inch mazdaspeed wheels to check pads and generally clean up and paint etc.

so they gotta come off, only problem is i only just got the car and it didn't come with the tools to remove them

there is a trick little spring wire clip in the hub center so i removed that and pulled off the cap only to find it was only trim and i had busted the double sided tape!

guess i will have to spin off the big alloy 8 sided nut?, but i don't want to go busting things again so thought i'd ask

The center piece is plastic that covers the lug nuts. Use a small blade screw driver to pry it off, should just pop off with little effort. If u look real close, u'll probably see a recessed area that the blade is to be inserted.

gottem off!

tried gently popping them off but there was no indentation for a driver and both alloy bits started to burr so i stopped...

got out the grinder and cut a new slot in the old plumbers wrench in the garage, to allow the adjuster wheel to open up the jaws another few mm and i had a wrench!

the 8 sized alloy trim nut? spun off allowing me access to the wheel nuts, which needed a narrow 21mm socket to remove as there isn't enough space fo the wrench in the kit
