How come most of the wheel sites I go to list 17x7.5 as an acceptable wheel size?

How come most of the wheel sites I go to list 17x7.5 as an acceptable wheel size?

Along with 18x7.5...what's the deal..how come they list it as acceptable, if everyone here says that it isn't?

I know the stockers have an 8" rim widthe...so why do they list that as acceptable? It seems like NOONE has 17x8s, 18x8s or higher listed for reasonable prices....and those deals look SO good...It's getting REALLY frustrating..as I don't have the money to buy Volks, Fikses, or those other expensive azz rims.

Granted, you get what you pay for, but I can't blow 2 to 3,000 on rims...I have a bent rear rim, with a hairline fracture, and I'm ready to move up to a better "looking" (it's hard to beat the stockers on weight) that accentuates my car and makes it stand out more..

I'm looking for a rim along these lines....

Any ideas? Please help..I've been searching for the past week, and I'm all confused now.

No..no..I'm talking about actually putting in the make, model, and year for the car..and it still brings it up.

In fact..the majority of them are like that.

I put in 1993 Mazda RX-7, and that's what I get....

Check out the 5zigen FN-01Rs. They are light and around $220 a wheel. They have 9x17s with a 43mm offset I believe. And the wheel is light. I think they are to come out with a 9.5x18 soon as well.

As an alternative, the Black Racing Pro-N1s are priced right as well. These are light as well, but not as light as the 5zigens.

They might work for you. Both wheels are on that page.

Thank you for the link...I appreciate it..it's hard to find affordable 17x9's methinks...

Those rims are really nice...I was hoping for a polished lip..maybe I should look around a little bit more..but you sure as hell can't beat the look and the weight..that's sweet.

Tire stores list narrower-than-stock rim widths as acceptable because skinny wheels/tires won't rub. Skinny wheels/tires are NOT acceptable performancewise. Don't go narrower, especially if you're going larger in diameter. If you go 17, you should at least go 9 wide. If 18 diameter go at least 9.5 wide. If you can't afford wider, then stay with stock wheels, until you can afford to do wheels/tires right...
