Holding Tire Pressure Problem w/ Volk rims - no noticable punctures
I have 18" Volk GTN's w/ Nitto 555's and for whatever reason both my front rims are not holding air. Both the tires and rims are relatively new. I took them off and inspected for nails/etc. and they looked perfect.
What else could the problem be - the valve? How do you fix?
Thanks!

Brent,
I have a crack in my stock rim that we found after immersing it in a tub...
unless you hit potholes with both front tires....and considering that your car is a weekend warrior...I would check the stems...

Spray a little soapy water at the stems. Those seem to be the most likely culprit.
While cast aluminum rims tend to leak some air due to voids, I would expect the spun rims of the GTNs to leak less or not at all. If they are 3 piece, the junction of the rim halves could be leaking.
All tires leak air over time. Some leak faster than others.
How fast is your leak?

3 days or so before down to 15psi. I sense they are the stems as well as they are rather long bent "L" shaped. It seems with a low profile tire the stem could take a beating during driving causing the L to bounce around leaking air. I'll explore it soon - I'll be changing my pads and will be the perfect opportunity. thanks!
