High spring rate question

High spring rate question
So I hear that high spring rates destroy shocks? It has me worried, I currently run 425/200 on Tokico Blue's on the first gen. I don't drive it much, nice weekends only and wouldn't like to get in the car and find out that the shocks have blown.
Any info/truth on this?

I read somewhere that the illuminas can run about 450lb/in max so I'd say that your front springs are pushing it.
And yes high spring rates can destroy shocks, like when people cut springs and increase spring rate significantly without upgrading the shocks and end up blowing them and bouncing around. I would search about the max stiffness the blues can handle before replacing them though. I think it would be more likely for you to blow them if you hit potholes and speed bumps a lot or did some serious driving.
