Hi quick question on the fd non reinforced wheels
Hi everybody I have a Nissan 350z TT and im looking for a set fd 93 wheels with MT for drag racing. Now my concern is that I heard that the 93 fd wheels weight 13 pounds which that’s good but they tend to crack. What I would like to know is do they start to crack easily or it takes time. Take in consideration they will not be used for daily driving im only going to use them for the track and I go like once a month.
What do you guys think suites me better the non reinforced or the reinforced. I wanted the best performance but i dont want to buy twice 13 to 16 pounds in wheels is a big difference. Let me know thanks.

There are still tons of non-reinforced wheels out in use that haven't developed cracks. I would not expect radical failure, but the wheel to start noticeably cracking first. Given that you are only talking about doing some drag launches on them occasionally, I think you'll be fine. Hell, there's still some non-reinforced wheels out there on hard driven auto-x/track cars with no problems.
