Here we go again with the tire ?s
Well for the last couple weeks, I've been searching about tire information and have gained great info from this site but there are still some unanswered questions in my head and I can't seem to make a final decision. Here's the info on what I have. Up front 18 by 8.5, out back 18 by 9.5, Work Emotion Kai CR, the offsett is 38, I believe but don't quote me on it. As of right now my front is cut out on the inside to fit the wheels that we're previously on and due to the front driver's side tire grabbing the outside fender lip and fenders are going to be cut very soon.
Currently I'm running a 225/40 on the front and a 245/40 on the rear, which would equal to 25.1 up front and 25.7 out back. From searching I've found that stock is 24.9. So the front is pretty close to stock, although I would like to go a little smaller for extra clearance.
Here are the numbers I've found on different size tires...
285/35=3.9-25.9
285/30=3.4-24.7
275/35=3.8-25.6
265/35=3.7-25.3
255/35=3.5-25
245/35=3.4-24.8
245/40=3.9-25.7
235/35=3.2-24.5
235/40=3.7-25.4
225/40=3.5-25.1
So, a lot of the forum members are going with what tirerack suggests, 235/40 up front and 265/35 out back, which would be 3.7-25.4/3.7-25.3. This is the closest combination that can be made. But this would be going slightly bigger on the front, not much but still bigger, when I want to go slightly smaller.
So, I thought about 245/35 up front and 255/35 out back, making 3.4-24.8/3.5-25. This is as close to stock as you can get without going to a 235/35 285/35, which would be most likely a very uncomfortable ride and very expensive.
Now, the question that I've been pondering is with having the wider wheels front and back, is this going to change the overall height of the tires, saying that the wheel is going to stretch the tire out and make is shorter then my calculations? And I would assume that you would want to go as close to the same overall height for the front and rear for the best control/handling but if unable do you want to have bigger on the back or the front?

Very low offsets....
Just run 245/35 and 265/35. This is only ~1/4" taller at the rear. If you are really concerned about even ride height, run a 235/40 up front. However, given the very low wheel offset up front, the taller 235 tire may prove problematic.
