Help with tire size
Hey,
I just had my wheels refinshed and I like to get some recomendation on tire sizes. My Mazdaspeed wheels are 17 by 8 with a +35, and the rears are 17 by 9 with a +34 offset. The tires that I orded are the Kumho MX 235/45-17 and 255/40-17s.
I'm having problem with the fronts tires rubbing against the fender liner bolts and the fender itself. I tried rolling the fenders, but it still rubs, when I go over a dip or speed bump.
My current suspension set up are Eibach pro with Koni yellow. Would a 225/45-17 work without rubbing?
Thanks, Jay

Thos sizes will be fine on those wheels.... I've heard of some strange rubbing on certain cars lately with certain wheels and then you can try them on another car and there fine....

I'd remove the fender bolt, then learn to live w/ a little rubbing... i've never seen a lowered FD w/ aftermarket wheels that doesn't have rub marks on the fender liners.
You could also try a 245/40 on the front, which is wider but a bit shorter than your 235. Depending on WHERE you're rubbing it might help, but +35 is a pretty low-offset wheel for the front.... My SSRs are 8" +38, w/ 235/45/17, and it definately rubs sometimes.... upgrading to coilovers (stiffer springs) has cured most of it.
What perch do you use on the koni yellows? W/ Eibach pro-kits, it should be on the highest setting.

+35 mm for the front 8 x 17 is a bit low of an offset for 235/45-17. Note the stock offset for that size is 50-mm which moves the wheel/tire more inboard and away from the fender lip. Try a bit more negative camber (-1.5 or so).
