Help. No brakes

Hi there,

I just got home from a spirited drive in my series 7 FD and whilst driving my brakes stiffened up and it was hard to stop. I pulled over to check the pads and from what I can see they looked fine.

The E-brake light has been on for a few weeks also. Could this be contributed to the problem?

Also, I noticed whilst driving home carefully. The engine idles pretty high and wierd.

Are these all symptoms of a new brake change? I apologise for the newbish question. Any help is much appreciated.

Andy

I'm not too familiar w/FD I'm a 1st gen. but I had the same problem and I had an air leak in the hose that goes connected in the converter.

Sounds like something to do with a vacuum leak with the brake booster and/or the check valve in the booster line.

yep everythings in check now. the e-brake light has disappeared after topping up with brake fluid.

one of the vacuum hoses had cracked. taped it up and the the brakes work properly.
