Help me with this wheel size please

In the market for some wheels and came across a nice set of Work Equip wheels 18x9.5 front +14 235/35/18 and 18x10.5 rear +14 265/35/18 on Craigslist. Does anyone know off hand if these will fit on my FD or these aren't even close to fitting. I read the wheel fitment guide but am not to sure about the offsets because I see people running offsets that aren't even close to what is posted there. Please let me know. Don't wanna take a trip to buy the wheels and they don't fit. Thanks guys.

Offsets are off by about an inch, or +25ish. Not happenin with anything resembling stock fenders. You'd want 9.5 +mid30s and 10.5 +high30s.

Those tires are also way too narrow for those wheels and will look ridiculous while performing poorly..... IMO

Offsets way off to fit.

The front 235 on 9.5" wide wheel is significantly "stretched".
I like 255 on 9.5" wide wheel. I am not saying 255 is the optimal tire width for a 9.5" wheel, but rather 9.5" wheel is about the optimal width for a 255 wide tire (totally different thing).

The rear 265 on 10.5" wide wheel is a nice light "stretch".
Porsche and BMW both come from the factory with 265 wide tires on 10.5 wheel. Some 265 tires are rated up to 10.5" and some just 10" width.
The tires that the vehicle manufacturer "stretched" in these cases was not recommended for the wider wheel.

Actually, the Corvette, Porsche and BMW all have all come stock with wheels half inch "too wide" for their tires. See a trend on the types of cars that use this fitment?

Thanks for the input. Saved me a drive from going to try them on. Hopefully something pops up for sale here on the forum.

they may look silly, but performance is, if anything better.

in the race car we used to run a 225/45/15 on a 15x7, and the same tire on a 15x8 is better. in fact the same tire on a 15x9 is even better, although not by a lot. and then due to the rule set, we've been running a 205 on a 15x9, and it only looses a tenth of a second or two.

note please that we're running Hoosiers, which run wide for their sizes, so a 205 hoosier is = to a 225 in any other brand.

You're talking lap times I suppose? a 225 on an 8 is 'standard' fitment, on a 9 is a stretch. I know you know all this

On the street a 235/35-18 is a rubber band sidewall with an OD of only 24.4 inch so 3.2 inch sidewall. Such a whacked-out size that hardly any tire manufacturers even offer the size, Pirelli is the only one I found with the P Zero.

I'll stand by my recommendation of not attempting to run that size up front on a 9.5 inch wide rim
