Help me buy rims for my FD

I have about $2,500 to buy new rims and tires - I'm going to try to get them used or refurbished. I want to get 19"s eventhough everyone tells me to just get 18"s. I like the Racing Hart C5 style - 3 piece, 5 spoke, 19X8.5 and 19X10.

Show me some rims that would look good and where to get em. Thanks!

The only issue with buying 19in rims is getting tires with a low enough profile to stay close to stock diameter. This is especially important if you lower your car.

Other then that, ultra low profile 19s cost $$$$$$. The best value seems to be Pirelli P7000s in 235/35/19s and 265/30/19s. Mid $200 range both sizes. They both sit a bit taller then stock overall diameter, but it's as good as it's going to get with 19s.

No matter how you add it up though, a 19" combo might be a tad out of your budget. Up to you if you want to splurge a little. Careful when buying used. Alot of times, it's false economy.

Personally, I got off the 19" thing and feel 18s are more then big enough.

Here is a pic of a fellow Houstonian RX7 owners car, Andy, with my old 18" SSRs that belonged to Adam Sawuratari (sp). Waa, I want me old rims back again, they are sooooooo sweet!:

No longer made, though there is a newer version out - the SSR Decolte (decolite?) Evolution.

Contact Rishie (ARD T2 on teh Forum). He's usually somehwere around here. He can give you the hook-up on quality wheels and tires, plus part of his proceeds go to support the Forum to boot.

Best of luck!

I did not check for fitment, but here's wheelmax's prices:

The C5 is discontinued, so I got prices on the M5 3 pc.:

18,8.5 = 650.00
18,10 = 700.00

19,8.5 = 750.00
19,10 = 810.00

I can beat these prices, but you need to see if this is affordable. there is no way you can get within your budget. 19" tires are superbank too. Expect to spend $1000.00 minimum on tires and an additional minimum of $3000 - $3100 on the wheels. $2500.00 ain't gonna happen. Not with a Dazz wheel, they don't do hookups. The least discounted wheel ever, no deep deals for anyone.

If you want a 19" I would suggest the DPower CP-05, this is a forged lip, w/ cast face that has been welded together. Still considered a 2pc, just no rivots. This wheel can be had for probably under $2000.00 for all four in 19's. They will not be available in 19 for another month or two.

Check out aktusa.com or akt.com, I'm not sure which one it is. But they're the distributor.

Don't be a traitor, if you want to get the lowest price just ask us on the forum. This going to become a primary way for us to fund the forum, plus you get the phat deal. It's a win/win situation.

Thanks, Rishie

I am sorry for having my mailbox full, but it forces you guys to e-mail me which is much better for me in case the forum crashes, has happened before.

Please e-mail me with any requests to autornd@hotmail.com. If that is too much trouble, then go ahead and PM.

I will clean out my mailbox, I just have to print out a lot of the PM's as they are estimates.

Thanks, Rishie
