help with hawk brakes

i just re-did my brakes on my FD i replaced the discs with new Cross drilled and slotted ones (all 4) and also replaced the pads with HawK pads (front and rear). when i brake now, i get nasty fade after like 2 hard brakings. the car is worse that with stock pads. a local told me that these cars work better with the stock pads because the hawk pads are made only for high temp. braking. Isa this true?

Please help

Thanks
Robert

Dont have them on my FC but a buddy put them on his 03 Cobra. Used HPS's in place of the ones that came on his stock Brembo's and had no fade and better braking, but burned through them after 4 days at the track. Switched to HPS+'s and found the hauled it down even faster, again with no fade....and he's stopping almost 1000lb more than u. Different application..but for what its worth.

I've had my Hawk HPS on for a little over 1000 miles. Stopping seems fine, but the brake dust = teh suck!

What model Hawk pads are they? What brake fluid are you using and did you properly bleed the brakes? Did you bed-in the pads properly?

When you say fade, do you mean the pedal stays firm and the braking distance increases or does the pedal get mushy?

You shouldn't be getting any fade with Hawk pads after only two hard stops. It takes a few laps of road racing the car to start making the brakes fade with Hawk HPS pads.
