Hankook Ventus Rs2 Z212 vs. Falken Azenis Rt615

Which do you guys prefer, if you guys have any experience?

They seem to be pretty similar in price, but performance?

both are good tires, I have the hankooks right now. 615 are a little better, tire rack did a test, there is a link around somewhere. I think the Khumo MX tested better than the R-s2's also.

Go to Grassroots Motorsports....they have a tire test on their website with these two tires. I think it's from August 2005.

I have been running the 225/45-16 Hankooks on a 7.5" wide wheel. Great on asphalt, won the National Tour in San Diego and the ProSolo at Fontana. Tried again at Atwater on concrete with no testing, absolutely sucked.

They are better shaved and will last longer. Definitely better than the Kumho MX's without a doubt....

215/45-16 Falken Azenis RT-615 will be the next ones to try, we have run them successfully in other autocross cars.

Well I read the honda thread and they seem to be undecided. I've got some Falken RT-615's and swear by them. That said, I've never tried the hankook's but they seem to be comparable. I'm looking for a used G-suit on Ebay because these tires corner harder than any street tire I've ever tried. Go with whatever you want and be prepared to have a hoot!

I currently have the z212 rs-2 and they suck compared to the azenis rt215/615. The treadwidth on the rs2 is smaller than azenis, a 245 rs2 is same as a 235 azenis, and the max width on 17" rs-2 is 245. There are too many voids in the tread pattern, unlike azenis which have beefy shoulder blocks, this makes the tread squirm and not as responsive as azenis, the sidewall is also softer on the rs-2.

also falken just dropped the price on azenis rt615, there is really no reason not to get azenis rt615 if you are in the market for those kind of tires.

I have the R-S2s and think they're great...especially for the money. I take my FD to the track regularly to do HPDE and i'm very happy with these tires. From the impressions that i've gotten from other people, i would venture that the Kooks are 95% as good as the Azenis. I wanted Azenis but they didn't have the size i needed (245/45-16) so i went with the R-S2s. If you can get the size you want and are willing to spend a little more money you can't go wrong with the Azeni, but if any of these factors are a concern go with the R-S2. Either one is a great choice.

When not on Rcomps, I use and love the hankooks! I've used them at Thunderhill... middle of summer w/ ambiant temps in the 95+ and they were amazing. Never faded. Also this was on my 2800lb Volvo track car. I would say they were within a couple seconds in lap times to when im on my Kumho V710's Rcomps. The Falken just didnt seem to stick as well as the last azenis' and not as well as the hankook...
