good place to get a brake change?

good place to get a brake change?

does any1 reccomend a place to get their brakes changed? like a gas station.. etc? also.. when painting the calipers, do i need to remove them or just block off the rotor and other parts that i dont want to get painted?

Personally, I would NEVER take my FD to a gas station or similar type of mechanic for ANY reason. I hate to stereotype, but the mechs that work in those places tend not to have the same pride in their work as those found in "higher rung" shops.

What brake work are you talking about, just pads or new rotors, etc.?

Years ago, I had my FD brakes done by Midas. Any shop that does brakes can do it. It's no different than any other car.

As for painting the calipers, you don't have to completely remove them to paint them. Just mask everything off:

If its just pads and rotors that is something that is easy to do and you could save yourself some money and do it yourself. If you were like me and have no mechanical abilities at all and are learning have a friend show you. You need basic tools and a c-clamp and about an hour or so of time to do it. Good luck.
