Good cleaner for in the wheel well/suspension components
So what have you guys used. I dont have the whole rear end aprt so i cant clean each piece by hand. Becuase the alluminum has a pretty thick build up of brake dust and such its really caked on. Also some thing that would get rid of rust back there.
I was thinking of CLR.....yes, no?

GUNK Engine Brite. It would be best if you could jack up your car and remove the wheels so you can have access to the wheel wells and undercarriage. Spray it on, let it sit for a while, agitate all of it with a paint brush, then rinse it off.
BTW, what's "CLR"?

I have the rear end up already as i am painting my calipers. I figured while i was doing this i would "spuce up" the suspension area.
I have already sprayed wheel cleaner and brushed it with a wire brush. worked a bit but i need something stronger. CLR is a chemical for removing Calcium, Rust and Lime deposits. Eats that stuff away so i thought it might work back there.

I find Gunk is mostly better with build up of dirt/grease. Whats in the rear is hardened brake dust, rust, and other stuff i have no clue is. I dont thing Gunk would be strong enough.........dunno.
Suspension cleaner
Use any good degreaser-spray on for 10 -15 minutes then use a Power washer. They will look like new and allow you a clean base to repaint or polish.
If you don't own a Power washer-you can rent one. I do my '91 Vert BBS wheels and suspension pieces twice a month and they look great!.
