FITMENT CHECK! 17x9 and 17x10 wheels w/ tires

17x9 +41mm offset Volk Racing GT-P wheels with 255/40/17 tires
17x10 +41mm offset Volk Racing GT-P wheels with 275/40/17 tires.

The set has less than 5000 miles on them. They were mounted on a 1991 Nissan 300zx Turbo, which they fit great

Looking at buying these, they are too good of a deal to pass up... How would the fitment be? +41 seems about right!

Question

What suspension set up do you have on your car right now, stock springs/shocks?

As long as there's enough pad height (brake caliper clearance) for the front brakes, and you're NOT running Racing Beat springs, I'd say go for it!

Yes stock springs and shocks..

would I need coil overs? How bad would the rubbing be? I was planning on doing some suspension mods, but as of right now the car is not on coilovers .

You'll be fine. Make sure the front brake calipers clear the wheel spokes. You need at least 40-mm of pad height...

Should be fine right now with the stock setup. However, in the front, I'm running the same sized tires/rim with a little bigger offset (+43) and had rubbing with aftermarket (lower) springs.

I'm running 18x10 +42's in the rear, w/ 275/35/18. They fit with no special things done.... it's tight around the fender lip, but i doubt the extra 1mm out for your fitment would be the deal breaker.

For the 99 brakes you might.. but i measure 25.5 mm pad height needed for the Stop Techs, and the stock brakes would need less than that.

Actually I think that most 17" combinations are actually shorter that their 18" counter parts. That said, most of the problems with fitment on the RX-7 stem from width and offset problems.

Hello, that's for used.

And BTW, what's with people buying $2K wheels, then putting on shitty cheap *** Sumitomo tires on them?

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ireModel=HTR+Z

They get fairly good reviews actually. They arent a great tire, they arent a Potenza S03 or a G-force KDW or anything, but they are a pretty grippy, high performance summer tire.

The tires werent my choice.. I bought these because I wanted these wheels. They are still about $120 per tire in those sizes, so bascially I'm getting the wheels for $750.

They werent my first choice, but by no means are they a crappy tire

S03s in this size are about $270 a tire, which would make the tires over 1k
