Firestone Firehawk GT's

Well, searched for it, and nobody seems to have tried them yet. Anywho, I order up tires for a fleet of Chevy Malibu's in downtown chicago. Well, about 2 weeks ago, the guy I order through tells me about these great tires that he just swapped his pirelli P-Zero's on his M3 out for, and they were even better and less than half the price. Well, figured I'd try them on the FC.

As you know, it's hard to find good high performance tires in a 205-60VR/15 size, so I was currently running some Firestone Affinity LH30's, which were passenger car tires that got pretty damn sticky once you wore through the first 1/8" of tread, but only lasted about 4 months in street driving, and at 45$/ea., it's not cheap, and mind you that's going to the chords, no burnouts, nothing, just driving to and from work.

Well, I get these in, and at ~$50/ea. it wasn't too bad. First impression was "noisy" and "tread flex" just because of the large tread blocks and HUGE channels for water evacuation. Then I leaned on one of the tires, unmounted, on end, and it DIDN'T bow in. The sidewalls are that hefty. Now I'm thinking that it has some potential. Well then I mounted them up. The damn things look like a truck tire with the pattern they have on the car. Then I took off, and then notice the first of many things.

1. Steering felt lighter with the new tires
2. Very quiet tires, my fears were squashed
3. Ride was more akin to gliding down the road

Then I got into some high-speed twisties on the way to work. Then these tires began to shine. On the way to work, there's an exit ramp that has two fairly sharp turns, but they're banked and wide, so they can be taken fairly quick. The fastest I ever took them before was about 75-80. With just these tires on it, nothing else changed, I looked down to the speedo going through the first corner, which I new I was going through faster than before, but didn't expect to see 105! And all she was doing was just barely beginning to howl the outside rear tire (Thanks DTSS...). Whats more, I had the confidence in these NON R-compound tires to do that and possibly more.

All in all, if you have an FC, turbo or N/A, I would reccomend investing in the Firehawk GT's for your ride. No other high performance tire can be had at this price that is this amazing for your car, and personally I won't run anything else on my car from now on.
