Federal 595 Performance?

Anyone have any experience with these tires and their performance/life etc compared to other tires? I can get any size I want at $100 each off another forums group buy and thought I might as well if they're alright tires.

performance is ok. When new they are pretty good, but when used for a bit they will get hard. For the price you can't go wrong. If you're in this budget you can't expect much. i think this is one of the best cheap tires out there though.

It depends what you want to do with them. For drifting, this tyre is the new ST115.

What does that mean? Well once upon a time when Falken still made ST115s, they were fairly cheap, lasted a long time, and had a lot of grip while being put through the rigors of drifting. A lot of more expensive tyres would delaminate and otherwise blow apart in all various manners and spectacular ways.

ST115s and FK451s both made way for FK452s, and the 452s suck in comparison.

SS595 is not the longest lasting tyre, but it has a lot of grip and good life when heat cycled properly as a break-in. For the price, they are VERY good. I used them exclusively all last season, and this one as well!

As for grip driving or just a higher price bracket, the Bridgestone RE-01Rs and Advan AD07s are my 2 fav tyres. Supposedly Federal's 595RS competes with the RE-01R! So maybe try the RS out? I know the Federal sponsored RSR drift cars were breaking axles with the RS tyres! Lots o grip!

Yeah, I was thinking of getting a set of 595RS' for my 16's for autocross to see how they do, and just getting a set of regular 595's for daily driving on my bigger wheels.
