FD wheel and tire size opinions

I need some help on wheels and tire sizes for a FD. I was thinking of 9.5'' fronts with something like a 245, and 10.5'' rear with like a 275-85. I don't want to stretch tires, and i don't want to roll the fenders really. Not sure if i'm going 17 or 18's yet, how much easier is it to fit bigger wheels and tires on a 17 compared to a 18? Also, with a car running Tein flex coilovers.

Thanks,
Shawn

A 245 on a 9.5 is a bit of a stretch, you need a wider tire on that wheel to have it not be stretched, or get a narrower wheel.

For anyone that is running 9.5'' in the front and 10.5'' in the back, can you please give me your tire sizes and offsets, whether for 17's or 18's.

if you roll your fenders the ideal setup for that would be either

255/35/18 and 285/30/18

OR

265/35/18 and 295/30/18

The question is WHAT IS YOUR BUDGET? hehe. always #1. This will indicate whether or not this is even a viable option for you.

Question #2: What are you building this car for? Objectives and functions please?

Thanks, Rishie

AS for budget, it's not a big issue, since im taking out a loan. I'm making the car for a road race/street car. Im shooting for about 400whp. I was also thinking about going with feed fenders, how much more room will that give me to work with?

So between $2000 and $3000 will suffice for wheels only?

THe issue is that the 9.5 would need to be near a +50 offset and for the 10.5 I think you're gonna hvae to roll fenders no matter what. you would need a +45 offset approx.

Do you have upgraded trailing links?

Thanks, Rishie

I plan on spending about $2500 for wheels alone(Volk GT-U's) What about a 9'' and a 10'' combo? i really don't want to have to roll the fenders. And no, i don't have upgraded trailing arms(yet )

The GTU is a pretty heavy wheel, fyi.

Another question, are you intending to get a big brake system? If so which one?

For standard brakes they look to have this fitment:

18x9 +44 and 18x10 +44 or +50

Now if you get big brakes you won't have this same fitment. It will be reduced to an 8" wheel up front. FYI. Even that will be pushing it.

Thanks, Rishie
