FD master cylinder whining

Very occasionally I will hear a high pitched whine coming from under the dash when I step on the brake pedal. Brake fluid level is ok, there is no change in braking performance, it lasts as long as the pedal stays down, and if I release it & step again it doesn't do it. Anyone know what it is and what to do about it?

TIA,
Chris

Why not take your driver's seat out for access, block your car wheels for safety, start the car and using flashlight press on the brake and see if you can locate the whirring sound.

I've never heard of such a thing. That 'might' be why no responses....
