FD guys, 245/45's on stocker whls...

I've been looking around here for tire sizing, found some good info. I'm thinking of trying the 245/45's on the stocker FD weels, but have a couple questions. Does this clear the stock springs or lowering springs decent? how 'bout fender lip? I've had some bad tire to spring rub on my FC once, and don't want that again.... thanks. Oh, and how much "bubble" effect is there? does it gush over the edge of the wheel alot?

Yes, yes, not much and no, depending on exact tire model (some are wider than others, some have "squarer" profile, etc)

245/45/16 should fit nicely on a stock wheel.

My 93 R1 had stock sized 225/50/16 that would just "touch" the front fender liners during auto-xing. I put on 245s and the same thing happened.

Never a problem with any metal parts though.

Discount Tire and Tire Rack don't carry Toyo....the T1-S is being replaced by the T1-R right now.

I have never had any rubbing issues with 4 different sets of 245/45/16 tires on my stock FD wheels, and stock suspension. This includes several autocrosses.

Its funny that I am on my 4th set of tires in only 14,000 miles

What about if you have lowering springs? Say RS*R Race springs, would they rub or not?

Rub on what? Yes, the tire will catch the fender lip at sharp steering angles during sharp bumps/dips if you lower the car into the weeds, but so will the stock size tires. 245/45 16 is a good safe fitment, geez guys, many of us run 255-285s up front without issues!

I've had a set of Potenza Pole S03 245/45R16 and a set of Fuzion ZR-i of the same size. They both fit the stock wheels, and I haven't had any problems so far (with exception to getting them mounted).
