FD bushings/suspension/control arms help

I have a 93 touring model and the suspension seems worn out, im getting popping from what feels like the rear suspension when I make turns so im looking to upgrade my suspension. I figure it is likely control arm bushings and it looks easy enough to do the rear control arms but from what ive seen other people saying you cant replace the bushings on the front upper and lower control arms? what are my options? What all should i be replacing on my 93 FD to freshen up my suspension and where can I find these parts?

The front ball joints cant be replaced without buying a new arm but every other bushing in the car can be replaced. If you're somewhat on a budget, you can start off by replacing the rear pillow ***** (I sell them) and see if that takes care of your clunking.

Polyurethane bushings firm up your suspension without rattling your teeth fillings off. Theyre a good upgrade and are easy to install. The two main players for Polyurethane bushings for FDs are Powerflex (see my sig) and SuperPro. Both are good but SuperPro can be a little harder to find. You cant go wrong with either of them but if you go with SuperPro, dont buy the adjustable camber kit. I can help you out with Powerflex bushings as I'm an authorized dealer and can help you with any questions/problems you may run into during installation. Click on the bushing in my signature below for more info and pricing on them.

Shoot me a private message if you have additional questions.

Thanks,
Juan

Powerflex bushings usually do not replace the pillowballs. Nor are they a pillowball design. They are a sleeve design where a metal sleeve sits inside polyurethane. The powerflex bushings replace the upper control arm's inner bushings and the bushing at the shock mount. If powerflex started producing pillow ball type bushings to replace the point at the spindle, please post pics. Pillow ball bushings like the stock ones are basically ball joints encased in rubber.

Noisy rear suspension on the FD are usually the pillow ball bushings. See the 3rd gen FAQ or search for more history on that.

You really should do ALL the buishings together. At the very least do all 6 pillow ***** in back. They are usually responsible for popping/clunking. The actual ball joints in the front control arms are not replaceable. They don't fail often unless the boot rips and they run dry.
