Unhappy FC: Tokico Blue and Tein Green, STOCK tires rubbing the springs

I am redoing my suspension bushings and after taking my front tires off I see that my springs have been severely rubbed by the tires. The spring is rubbed down to bare metal.
I bought the car with this setup. I am running the stock wheel and tire 205/60/16. Was something previously installed wrong (well yeah...)??

This is how the car sits, it is pretty low

Anyone have any ideas?

I am very curious about this issue. I just bought Tokico blues and some Tein S-tech springs.

I installed my set-up last night. The front springs are about 1/2" from the front tire. I sort of freaked out a bit at first... But I knew in order to find any sort of negative result, I'd have to test drive it.

RESULT: After a test drive, doing some quick cornering, I found no signs of rubbing. The true test will be for me to drive it around daily. (This set-up road like a dream! Probably because my 24 year old suspension was completely shot, worn-out, and just plain blown.)

Thanks for responding. I'm actually thinking this... the previous owner had aftermarket rims and tires. It was probably those that were rubbing. My car has sat for extended periods of time, I don't even recall seeing this. For now I have put a piece of tape on the spring. After I drive it around a bit, I will check if the tape is still there. I'm pretty sure I am not rubbing (never heard or felt anything). It's probably fine especially with stock tire sizes.

Bump! After some further research, and actually inspecting the car, I have found this to be a common issue with TURBO wheels and tein springs. They rub! Do not run this combo if you have turbo wheels! No wonder my car handles like ****. I have ordered new replacement (racing beat) springs.

Live and learn.
