FC extended lug studs?

Anyone know a good reliable source to buy extended lug studs for an FC? I've heard ARP has them but only other ones I've come across were from upgrademotoring.com. They are around $6 a piece.

http://www.upgrademotoring.com/wheels/whl_acc.htm

Any info would be great. Just looking for some for my car and would like to know if anyone has any other recommendations before I go with these.

Get the ARP ones for the late model Corvettes, Camaros, etc. Put the 3.25" ones in front and the 2.5" ones in the rear, this will give you about 1" longer studs all around. The rears require that the hubs come off though.

Yeah 1" sounds perfect for up front... tho by late model Vette's and Camaro's, what year range are you talking about? Also, I'm assuming this would keep the same thread pitch as an FC?

oh, before its asked...

rear hub has to be pressed off to have enough room to install the extended studs. May as well replace rear wheel bearings while your at it (you may be forced to depending on S4/S5)

front you can 'almost' get the studs in and out with the hub still on the car, easier if you take the hub off though.

Take the fronts off too, then you can put new grease in there and you won't be hammering on the bearings.

Will both front and rear studs have equal "protrusion" with the wheels on when using these different stud lengths front to back?

More or less, if you use 2.5" in front, they barely stick out any more than stock. I should know, I did it that way at first, then put the 3.25" ones in there after.

with the staggerd studs, the front is ~1/4" longer, if that. close enough for government work.

Wow thanks guys! Definitely a better way of going about getting them. Cheaper, known good brand from Summit and God knows what you'd be getting from my link. They don't state overall length and other info. Thanks again!

3 years later...

What lug nuts should be used with the extended studs? The thread pitch is obvious, but I'm seeing things like seat style, shank length, shank diameter, conical seat type, etc.

that's all based on your wheels, not your studs.

just make sure they're open ended

Just wanted to attach an image I made for future reference. It shows the difference between stock FD, FC, and ARP extended studs. Shameless plug: These wheel studs can be purchased from my website www.j-auto.net

Hey guys I just replaced the rear wheel studs with the ARP ones and about to do the fronts
Yes rears I pulled the bearing out and replaced it, however I didn't put anything under the bearing when I pressed the stub into the hub and it pressed the inside bearing through the seal
Anyway I will get a new seal as I just put a big socket under neath the hub and pressed it back in.

For the fronts can you just hit the old studs out and pull the new ones in or what's the best way?
What's involved with removing the hub?
Cheers guys

The front hubs are very easy to remove; just a 32mm nut (If I remember correctly) under the dust cap in the middle of the hub and it pulls right off. I wouldn't even consider trying to beat the front studs out, since the hubs are aluminum. Consider replacing, or at least re-packing, the front bearings while you're in there.
